*My Blueberry Nights

Jeremy
It's like these pies and cakes. At the end of every night, the cheesecake and the apple pie are always completely gone. The peach cobbler and the chocolate mousse cake are nearly finished... but there's always a whole blueberry pie left untouched.

Elizabeth
So what's wrong with the blueberry pie?

Jeremy
There's nothing wrong with the blueberry pie. Just... people make other choices. You can't blame the blueberry pie, just... no one wants it.

A peek at the movie
What is the distance between heartbreak and a new beginning?
How is it measured? By time, space or memory?

Elizabeth, a disenchanted young woman, embarks on a soul searching journey to distance herself from a broken heart. As emotional wounds began to fade, her experiences with disconnected strangers lead to a new and unexpected chapters of her life.
From the poetic musings of a late night cafe owner (Jude Law), to the desperate prepositions of a down-on-her-luck gambler (Natalie Portman), to the broken bond between a troubled cop (David Strathairn) and his rebellious wife (Rachel Weisz); these individuals redefine Elizabeth's perspectives on life, relationship and ultimately her own identity.

Slowly, Elizabeth begins letting go of the past and as she discovers a new path for herself -one towards true love.

Like Blueberry, this movie sweet, sour, bitter but also moist. In my own way, I enjoyed the movie despite the slow plots and gloomy color contrast.

My Blueberry Nights...haven't watched it, i often skip this movie in Wins Disc. Don't know why i always prefer the other films to be rented than this Wong Kar Wai's film. I like the color tone of the poster anyway...and u wrote that it has a gloomy color contrast in this movie...hoo...i like gloomy atmosphere...

Bluberry Nights!!!! really nice movie. Great cinematography (The unique colour of the background-bulp), cast (Rachel Weisz, Jude Law, Natalie Portman....), storyline (casual journey), and also soundtrack (of course with Norah JOnes inside). Wathcing this movie is like 'listening' Norah Jones song- in audio visual. I call this genre:jazz movie. Nice post!

Btw, I'm valen, friend of JAK, the same blogger addict. Nice to meet you.

Hi June, thanks for dropping by. One unique girl you are :p I've always thought design and accounting can never get along well. Lol. I hate all things numeric just so you know... Almost failed math, chemistry and physics back in high school.

Jak, wait till you watch the movie and give me your comments. The slow plot is a little frustrating. That's why I think it's suitable for a broken heart. Because you're numb with anything. Lol...

Yea you guys should watch the movie, Kimber doll, Michelle. But I'm warning you of the slow plot. Not everyone has the patience to "finish" the movie. Lol!

Olla Valen, nice to meet you dear! Yea, I went to your profile and spotted My Blueberry Nights. And Wicker Park! Jak recommended this one for me, but haven't got the time to watch it :) Looking forward to it. Jak must have told you about "Before Sunset" and "Before Sunrise". I heart them so much, I cannot stop bragging about it! Maybe you would too.

Jak seems to have lots of blogger friends, yea? None of mine has a blog. Not interested either :( That's why it's so great meeting you!
