Come as You Are...

Her arm were round her dearest friend's.
She was weeping and her friend wept too.
They wept for their friendship, their kind-heartedness,
and the unfortunate need to soil their hands with anything sordid,
anything fake, anything unworthy,
which would fade away the other day.

And they wept too for their lost bond, lost trust, lost deep relation.
But the tears of both women were sweet.
They come as they are...

Dior, the Lady Noire Affair

Oscar-winner Marion Cotillard impressed in the Eiffel Tower Lady Dior ad campaign this past winter, and now she's back at it again with something a little different. This time, she's utilizing her highly respected acting skills for Dior's new mini movie, entitled The Lady Noire Affair. The six-minute film made its debut on Dior's official site.

You can expect plenty of mysterious people, kidnappings, and other scenes! Captivatingly seducing... similar to a 1940s spy thriller like Ingrid Bergman's Notorious. I can't help but see the similarities between the two. Dior's version, of course, will also feature plenty of fabulous handbags for us to envy.

I thought about uploading some scene photos; but then decided otherwise, to leave you with the mysterious charms... Help yourself! Get yourself a first-hand experience of the ad campaign.

First Look! Chanel S/S 2010 Ads

Claudia Schiffer was spotted with Karl Lagerfeld on location in Buenos Aires for Chanel's spring/summer photo shoot! The team was seen flaunting about classic Chanel get-ups in Buenos Aires areas Monte Grande and San Telmo, although a little rain briefly halted the production.

Proving that she put the super in supermodel, Schiffer strikes a pose in head-to-toe Chanel, working a black lace dress, quilted Chanel purse and a gorgeous gaucho hat, a traditional wardrobe staple in Argentina. On location, Schiffer was seen wearing a black velvet Chanel structured jacket paired with a deco-inspired skirt and gaucho hat.

The designer, Mr. Lagerfeld himself, was behind every detail: from the script to the set. Karl Lagerfeld did his best to show the luxury he had created for us in his collection for the upcoming season. Simple but elegant outfits come in powder colors and seem to tell us that it’s not the brightness that looks classy. Sheer perfection!

Welcome to My Life!

I wish....
I could go back to you dearests with exciting stories about me,
getting back to working life.
I could elaborate details of the new job-desc,
with a big smile and glinting eyes.
I wish this editorial could represent my newly adopted daily life.

Uh-Oh....

I wish...
I could spend more hours sitting in front of my notebook, lounging and
doing one of my most favorite things: BLOGGING.
(I've been abandoning the blog for how long? 1 week, 2 weeks? I'm losing track of time)...

The fact is:
I've been beside myself these days.
I'm stressful and out of my mind.
I've got insomnia attacks every night.
I sleep at 3/4 a.m. scraping for inspiration.
I've lost 4-6 pounds effortlessly (the bright side :p)

So, I've committed myself with 3 super-talented youngsters to a great partnership, handling marvelous projects.
And yes, I am ecstatically excited.
Thus here I am, overwhelmed by new challenges and high standard; which causes my confidence level to sink down one time and another.

I hope things will get better soon...
I'm hanging on, striving my best, and I know for sure: I CAN DO THIS!

Donna Karan, Frill Seeking

Flounce your way through Spring with cascades of ruffles in sugary hues. It's just the right ingredient for light volume and a soft silhouette from Donna Karan Spring 2010 Ready-to-wear Collection.

The Collection
Donna Karan had a hit on her hands yet again. Tweaking the fabrics and the color palette, she sent out another wearable collection of soft skirtsuits and body-loving draped dresses.

She explained that she was "inspired by the power of the elements," namely, from the looks of things, wind. The hem of the opening stretch linen twill jacket, for example, was molded as if the model wearing it had just encountered a stiff breeze on the runway, while the bottom of a linen burlap top worn with a slim pencil skirt was permanently upswept. The effect was a sense of movement and a pretty femininity not always easily achieved in tailoring.

Details
Twisting around the body, Karan's dresses had a weightless, easy appeal. There were stretch matte jerseys in blush, and wrap styles with more volume in gray and white.

The simple lines of a folded envelope dress provided ample opportunity to show off a striking coral belt from Gerda Monies.

Statuesque Beauty Backstage
Delicate yet graphic looks reigned backstage at Donna Karan's spring show. Eyes painted with thick white eyeliner popped againt pale skin and bare lips, accenting a collection dominated by a palette of muted grays.

The show, overall, was Karan at her modern, unfussy best.

# Helena Christensen

Helena Christensen is mind-blowing. Take one look at this Danish supermodel and your eyes will flash green with envy: svelte, honey-skinned, breathtakingly beautiful, and 41 years old no less.

Helena is a fashion goddess, a style icon of almost 20 years standing. Beautiful pieces from Marc Jacobs, Thakoon, Stella McCartney and Comme Des Garcons inform what she describes as her ‘simple yet quirky' style. So who better to put on the "iconic" section than this master dresser?

Breakthrough:

Be daring,
Be different,
Be impractical,

Be anything that will assert integrity of purpose
and imaginative vision
against the play-it-safers,
the creatures of the commonplace,
the slaves of the ordinary.
-Cecil Beaton

I found the following entry on arianna belle site awhile back and like to re-read it every so often. I find it inspiring and motivating. Read on.

Mediocrity
can be defined by: if someone was to ask you “how are you?” you would reply “fine”. Mediocrity is doing an “ok job”, having a relationship that “works”, being just a “little” overweight, having a job that “pays the bills” etc.. Mediocrity is putting up with things the way they are with no firm plan to change the situation by a specific date. Mediocrity is following a predetermined and unfulfilling path. Most people live in a state of mediocrity. Mediocrity is as close to the bottom as it is the top.

Greatness is demanding the best of everything and doing what is required to get it. Greatness is demanding friends who demand the best. Demanding the best wife or husband and the best job and the best pay. Demanding the company you work for makes the best product and is uncompromising in its promise to the customer. Greatness is demanding the best out of one’s self.

Greatness means taking ownership of your life and operating out of what is possible not from a place of fear. Greatness is having faith that the world will unfold as you design it to be...

MEDIOCRITY
* Living a “FINE” life
* Just going with the motions of life – not “living” life
* Status Quo
* Following a predetermined path
* Following a “leader”
* Stagnant
* A vocabulary full of “I wish and I hope”, excuses and blame
* Worrying about what others think
* Not taking control of ones life
* Continually trying to look good
* Not loving every moment life
* Unhealthy Mind = Unhealthy Body

GREATNESS
* Leading a “great” life on a daily basis
* Creating your own path in this world
* Being a “leader”
* Unique individual
* Do not live your life concerned about how you look or what others think
* Live a life full of endless possibilities
* Open to failing and making mistakes
* Learning and new experiences
* Knowledge
* Continually moving forward
* Confident, strong and courageous
* Personal Responsibility – full ownership of one’s life
* Making a difference – being a contribution

Choose to be GREAT…
Choose to bring greatness into your life...
Choose to partake in “elevating the world from a place of mediocrity to a place of greatness!”

{Beach Beauties}

Another whirlwind week comes and goes as usual, but the good news is long weekend's here! For all the poor souls who've been huddling indoors for the past few months, this holiday promise one thing: finally being able to enjoy the outdoors! (I've been dreaming myself swimming fascinating sea caves, where the water hovered between an amazing shade of green and blue. )

Go Graphic
This season's geometri madness isn't a fashion flashback. Far from the kitschy, loud graphics, and multi-color block designs of fashion's past. Summer's take on geometry is arty, sleek and playful. What a fashion statement!
Moon Walker
Last season it was all about gold. But this season's new wave of metallic is cool and luxurious. It's all about the cold appeal of sci-fi silvery fabrics, or the heartless neon pink and green with metallic finishes - very disco 80's. Weave your silvery-spell!
To The Max
Sporty, tough and dangerously androgynous is the woman projected by these outfits. Boyish cut for explosive movement and freedom are key. Be comfortable in your skin, you're perfectly beautiful!
Have a great weekend all. Rock your holiday!

Gucci, Flora Fragrance

From the heart of Gucci storied legacy comes Flora, a brand new fragrance for the season. Rooted in the glamorous past of the fashion house, yet exudes modernity of the moment.

The inspiration of the scent originates from an iconic design of a silk scarf designed for Princess Grace of Monaco in 1966; thence rediscovered by Gucci current Creative Director Frida Giannini. Thus well said, Flora has proven to possess a timeless allure.

Composed of Rose and Osmanthus flowers -rare and delicate blooms of China origin; the combination of the two powerful scent reaches a perfect accord. The light, fruity quality of Rose counterbalanced by the velvety, leathery aspects of the Osmanthus. As a top notes, fresh citrus and peony are used; imparting sexiness and youthfullness.

The tension between each of these elements creates a superb equilibrium: resulting in a sensual and sophisticated, yet young and playful, fragrance.
An unconventional signature!
