Jane Aldridge of Sea of Shoes

# 2010 BEST FASHION BLOGGER

The new front row: Who's got the best seats at Fashion Weeks?

Jane Aldridge Paris, Texas: Who knew the Lone Star State could be so chic? Aldridge, the 17-year-old blogger phenom behind Sea of Shoes, has a wardrobe that could make stylists in the Marais rethink their outfits. She wears a Junya Watanabe flight coat and Givenchy bondage wedges to school (though only when it's a no-uniform day, presumably).

Kanye Approved
Glossy magazines have been tracking Aldridge since at least 2008, but the greatest compliment of all? Getting an e-mail of approval from Mr. West and a plug on his blog in March. From then on, she's the fashion blogs darling! Check out her site!

Go Green!

Do you know that our seemingly-harmless blogging activity is producing a yearly carbon dioxide emissions of 3,6kg (8lb)?

That's scientifically proven
according to a study by Alexander Wissner-Gross, PhD, physicist at Harvard University and environmental activist.
This can mainly be tracked back to the immense energy usage from (mainframe) computers, servers, and their cooling systems.

What Can We Do: 1 blog, 1 tree
The atmosphere can be relieved by an average of 5kg (11lb.) carbon dioxide every year by planting one tree. An average blog causes 3.6kg (8lb.) of carbon dioxide emissions. Consequently, a tree neutralises the carbon dioxide emissions of a blog. Since a tree lives for an average of 50 years, carbon dioxide emissions of your blog can be completely neutralised for this time period.

Please join the "My Blog is Carbon Neutral" initiatives. It's such a worthy cause. Just a few easy steps to make it green:

1. Write a blog post about the initiative + insert your favourite button
2. E-mail the link to your post to CO2-neutral@kaufda.de
3. We plant a tree for your blog in Plumas’!

AltamiraNYC.blogspot.com

Blog: AltamiraNYC.blogspot.com
Who: Craig Arend
Age: 31
Based: New York, USA

Altamira, in Craig's words:
"My aim is to shoot the most comprehensive coverage of models off duty, in their own clothes. But it wouldn't be fair to let history pass by without recording the amazing styles of everyday New Yorkers, so I include 'normal' people as well and naturally, editors and buyers during fashion season."

Ideal Subject,
"Someone, whose attitude shines through."

Inspiration to Continue,
"I love what I do and everything that comes with it: social networking, photography, models and fashion. As time passes, each little gig is leading to something bigger and better. I go into this with the attitude that if someone gives me a nail, I'll build a mansion fit for a king with it."

And last piece of advice...
What makes a successful blog,
A niche

Burberry launches artofthetrench.com – an evolving celebration of the iconic Burberry trench coat. Artofthetrench.com is a new Burberry digital platform with social networking functionality. The site will be an ongoing project between Burberry and some of the world’s leading image makers, building a living testament to the trench coat with regular collaborations being announced.

Burberry will invite site users to submit their own portraits to feature on the site, creating a body of images reflecting personal trench coat style across the globe.

"Artofthetrench.com celebrates our iconic trench coat, capturing the emotional connection behind our distinctive outerwear heritage. Everybody has a different story related to their coat or the first time they came into contact with one - I love the idea that people from all over the world can share those stories and images with each other and all the different attitudes and expressions of the Burberry trench coat and the people who wear it."

Teasing me to write about a recently found website about "beautifully handcrafted wedding stationery", MIKA78. Their meaningful designs trully bring story of love to life on paper. I'm in love with the romantic design of the website.
